LEI is pleased to announce that Jean Harms has successfully obtained her certifications to conduct asbestos surveys in the states of Pennsylvania and New York. These certifications will assist LEI’s ability to better serve our growing project portfolios in these states. Jean has served as LEI’s lead asbestos surveyor in Michigan since 2010.
LEI is excited to announce that Melissa Powers has successfully obtained her Asbestos Building Inspector Certification. She is now licensed in the State of Michigan through LARA and the MIOSHA – Asbestos Program to conduct asbestos building surveys. This will enhance LEI’s ability to further meet the needs of our clients.
Erin Gerber and Eric Klompmaker, environmental engineers at LEI, have recently obtained their certification to operate any facility under the classification Storm Water Management – Industrial Site (A-1i). The certification process requires passing an exam prepared by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. Erin and Eric will utilize this certification to assist LEI’s industrial clients with proper storm water management.
On January 2, 2014, Melissa Powers will be joining LEI’s due diligence and brownfield redevelopment department. Melissa is an Environmental Engineer with over 20 years experience in the environmental consutling industry. She will serve as a Project Manager at LEI’s Grand Rapids office.
LEI’s expanding due diligence and brownfield redevelopment department will be getting some much needed help in early August 2013. Margie Lathrop, a senior level environmental consultant with over 25 years of experience, has been hired by LEI to assist with the management of staff, development of existing and new clientele, and supervision of various due diligence and brownfield related projects. Margie’s extensive background in due diligence services and brownfield redevelopment projects will serve to significantly enhance LEI’s growing presence throughout Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Margie will operate out of LEI’s Grand Rapids office as a senior level project manager.
LEI has hired Nathan Koella and Caitlin Callow to participate in our summer internship program. Nathan and Caitlin are both pursuing a career in environmental engineering and currently attend Grand Valley State University and Calvin College, respectively. LEI’s summer internship program is designed to expose interns to various environmental projects and create opportunities for hands on practical experience.
LEI is pleased to announce that Eric Klompmaker has joined our growing engineering department. Eric is a Professional Engineer with over eight years of experience in sustainable low impact development, stormwater green infrastructure engineering, onsite wastewater treatment and dispersal systems, food processor wastewater management, civil engineering construction plan development, and stormwater modeling. His diverse background will assist LEI’s various environmental service departments.
Ryan Vande Griend, a Calvin College graduate, will utilize his Geology degree to assist LEI’s growing Food Processing Division. Ryan has a strong geology background and excellent field skills, which will bolster LEI’s capacity to work with our existing and new food processing clients. He will be a great asset to LEI’s new Grand Rapids office.
